The LevelOne POI-2012 is a PoE injector (PSE) with one Ethernet input port (data only) and one output port (data+power) designed for small to medium-sized networks. This injector converts the 100~240V/AC power supply to low voltage so that PoE compatible devices can be powered via Ethernet cabling. To do this, it uses spare pair technology, which uses the unused wires in Fast Ethernet connections for power supply. By adding a PoE splitter (e.g. POS-1002) to existing non-PoE networks, other network products such as access points and IP cameras can be easily used. This allows administrators a flexible installation because the PoE-PD devices do not have to be placed near a power outlet.
